NW Works Announces Planned Leadership Transition

NW Works announces that President and Chief Executive Officer Grady W. (Skip) Philips, III has provided notice of a planned leadership transition following nearly three and a half years of service to the organization.

During his tenure, NW Works expanded opportunities for those it serves across all areas of service with new programs and contracts for services, expanded partnerships with the community and donors, enhanced its financial position, and advanced planning for future growth. Today, the organization serves nearly 300 individuals throughout the Shenandoah Valley and is supported by a dedicated team of employees.

Mr. Philips will be working with the board during this transition period to support continuity, organizational stability, and an orderly transfer of responsibilities. During this period, he will serve in a consultative capacity to assist with key transition priorities, including continuity planning, strategic support, stakeholder communications, and institutional knowledge transfer.

“My time with NW Works has meant a great deal to me personally and professionally,” said Philips. “Over the past nearly three and a half years, I have had the privilege of working alongside our board of directors, community partners and a team of incredibly dedicated people who care deeply about our mission and about the individuals we serve. I am sincerely grateful for that experience and the opportunity to have been part of this work in

this season.”

The Board will begin a search for the organization’s next Chief Executive Officer, with a position announcement to be posted in the coming weeks.
