NDEAM Spotlight: Agazzi
Happy National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)! 🌟
This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Agazzi.
For the past three years, Agazzi has been a valued member of Shenandoah University’s dining team—first at Buzzin’s and now at Moe’s Southwest Grill through Aramark. With the support of his job coach and the welcoming SU community, Agazzi has gained valuable experience, grown in confidence, and strengthened his independence. From wiping tables and restocking silverware to food prep, Agazzi consistently brings dedication and enthusiasm to his work.
Recently, he’s taken on new responsibilities like reading recipes aloud, measuring ingredients, and preparing guacamole and salsa. His progress even earned him Employee of the Month this past February!
Agazzi’s journey shows how employment builds skills, independence, and community connections. We can’t wait to see him share his passion for cooking with his peers soon, hopefully starting with a salsa-making lesson using fresh tomatoes from the NW Works Garden!
Thank you to Shenandoah University, Aramark, and our community partners for supporting opportunities that help individuals like Agazzi thrive.
