Cheerful Celebrations: NW Works’ Client Holiday Party

On Thursday, December 21st, NW Works was full of cheer in anticipation of the soon-to-begin Holiday Party. Food, festivities, fun, and gifts are highlights of our Annual Client Holiday Party, all made possible by our volunteers and the NW Works Team! Gifts for NW Works service recipients were generously donated by parishioners of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, and a meal prepared by clients was served with a smile by the ladies of Alpha Omega Winchester and several of the NW Works Board Members. The NW Works’ Client Holiday Party is always a source of joy and excitement for the people we serve, and this year was no different! Throughout the week, the anticipation was building and the clients commented that they could not wait for Thursday’s celebration.

Many of the individuals we serve work in our community.  Even the clients who were not on site due to job responsibilities or personal obligations received hand-delivered gifts. One such client, Colton, received his gift at Winchester Medical Center, where, in addition to his job, he works as a mentor to ProjectSEARCH students. Colton successfully completed ProjectSEARCH and was then hired by Winchester Medical Center. Another client, Steve, was visited by Trex’s Santa and received his NW Works gift while he worked his shift at Trex. Our AbilityOne staff and clients in Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland also received their gifts on Thursday evening. Our Client Holiday Party, luncheon and gift deliveries are a change in pace from the efforts our staff and clients put forth in their jobs, training, and skill-building.

As NW Works prepares to go on break for the holidays, we wish our clients, staff, partners, volunteers, and our wider community a restful and enjoyable holiday season and we look forward to all that will come in 2024! NW Works will close on Friday, December 22nd and reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd.

We look forward to opportunities in 2024 to further partner with our community members, business and agencies to make a difference in the lives of individuals served by NW Works!
